Will the exam hurt?

We will be as gentle as possible. We always try to treat you like we would like to be treated.

Do I need x-rays?

Generally not at the initial visit.  We want to get a general idea of the primary problem, as well as other dental problems which need to be addressed before we start taking a lot of x-rays.  However, if you have an emergency or an acute problem requiring immediate attention we will need x-rays before doing an treatment.
